Liberland, Population 7
There is a tiny stripe of no man's land between Serbia and Croatia, that none of the two states claims. Vit Jedlicka, a member of the Euroskeptic, conservative party of Free Citizens, has declared it as being a sovereign state with the name of Liberland.
The new state motto is "To live and let live" and won't have "unnecessary restrictions and taxes", as Mr Jedlicka puts it in his role as self-proclaimed president.
The new country is inviting everyone to apply for citizenships, warning that extremists, communists and nazis won't be accepted.
Apparently hundred of people have applied, although at the moment the population stands at 7.
It is not clear whether Mr Jedlicka is entirely serious with his claim, but his move is attracting a lot of media interest. Surely the old dream of a peaceful way of living in a peaceful country appeals to many.
