The results can look quite fascinating, but the downside to it is that, in order to achieve contrast, you leave the rest of your skin unprotected. This is why dermatologists are not so enthusiastic about it. Medical professionals from the US Skin Cancer Foundation have warned that the reckless practice of sunburn art will lead to skin peeling and damage and potentially even skin cancer.
