A Ticket In Two Verses
On the 6th of June in the Russian city of Novosibirsk it will be possible to travel for free on the underground. But only if at the ticket counter you'll be able to recite at least two verses of Aleksander Pushkin.
That day will mark the 215th anniversary of the poet's birth. An army of teachers, students, librarians and schoolchildren will be positioned near the seven entrances and they will test passengers. Poetry readings and sessions will be held inside the stations.
Pushkin is seen as Russia's national poet and the founder of the country's modern literature. And this seems a quite creative and artistic way to celebrate his life and work.
