Emotions - Biometric Information?

Once in our view of the world emotions were the realm of the spiritual. Now more and more they come under the umbrella of science. From the discovery of Emotional Intelligence to the latest device for measuring goosebumps, emotions are increasingly explored from a physiological point of view.

A team of South Korean researchers has invented a sensor that is able to measure the intensity of goosebumps on a person. A stick-on transparent conductive polymer is used for the assessment, that aims to record how big the bumps are and how long they last.

The device in itself is innocent enough, but the idea behind this is that the realm of emotions could provide useful information and, one day, be steered artificially. And as all instruments to control the mind, this will have a potential for misuse.
