Linda Reid was blind since she was 11. A tumour was diagnosed at the time, that put pressure on her optic nerve. At the age of 24, one night she kissed her guide dog before going to bed and accidentally hit her head on a coffee table.

The next morning waking up she could see again.

The australian lady is now 38 but has decided to tell her story now, to raise awareness for Blind Week in New Zealand, where she lives.

Nobody could explain what happened. "I can't really find words to describe how it felt - amazing, fantastic. You can imagine not being able to see and then you can, you can't really describe that. To see the world again visually is a gift," she said.
