Description:
Every year, we come together for our New Year Dance, our midwinter gathering — a time to come indoors, draw closer to the fire, and celebrate warmth, friendship and presence through dance.
This gathering invites us to let go of what has been, honour the lessons the past year has brought us, and awaken our visions for the year ahead — gently tending to all that lives within our hearts.
n opportunity to take time to be together, to dance, share and support one another through the transition from one year to the next, making space for what we are leaving behind and what we wish to welcome into our lives.
Olivia will guide us on this journey, accompanied at special moments by inspiring live music sessions with Rishi and Shastro.
Olivia Olla Palmer is a certified teacher of both the Waves and Heartbeat levels of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms® practice. Born in London, she has lived in Italy since 1986.
During the retreat, we dedicate special time to creating our vision boards — collages that give shape to our wishes, intuitions and visions for the coming year. A little piece of art to accompany us through the months ahead, often revealing, as time passes, just how much our intentions have come to life.
On New Year’s Eve, we celebrate with an ancient and joyful ritual: we share dinner, dance our way towards midnight, and then step outside beneath the winter sky to gather around an outdoor fire.
There, accompanied by singing, drumming and music, we burn symbols, words and chosen objects representing what we wish to let go of. It is a simple yet powerful gesture, one that each person experiences in their own way.
Our ritual dressing-up for the evening is an invitation to embody more hidden parts of ourselves; archetypes, dreams and aspects of ourselves that are longing to emerge. Even a small symbolic object is enough. It’s about meeting one another with parts of ourselves we don’t often show in this playful, creative celebration.
Dance guides us through it all — giving shape to our journey, supporting us in letting go, creating space, and rediscovering vitality, presence and authentic joy.
